Why give up envy and hatred over others?

“Envy and hatred over others in you, bring you to their level and makes you suffer a lot. Therefore you need to give up that envy and hatred to free yourself from bad and become peaceful.”

Envy and hatred are bad feelings that brings you down and you become inferior. You are going to suffer for others in a wrong way by growing envy and hatred in you, which makes your mind never stay calm. So you need to leave this envy and hatred to free yourself and stay peaceful.

Just close your eyes and visualise the persons you hate and the persons you envy. How is the feeling? Your mood may have gotten bad or you may be getting irritation or you may be getting angry. Whatever the kind of feeling it may be, your mind is suffering because of it. That’s the reason why you need to give them up to stay peaceful and happy.

These envy and hatred over others are negative emotions which destroy your mental health that destroys your physical health. That’s the why you need to give them up.

The effects of envy and hatred includes:

  • Increase in stress levels
  • Immune system gets impaired
  • A disturbed mind
  • Lack of peace
  • Makes you inferior
  • Bad mood
  • A feeling of missing something.

There are more adverse effects because of these negative emotions. Therefore you need to control them. The ways to overcome them are:

  • Realise that these negative emotions are harming you not the one you hate or envy.
  • Don’t react so fast. Reflect on your thoughts. Find why you hate or envy someone. Then find a solution.

  • Take deep breaths and allow your mind to relax. Repeat this whenever your mood gets bad.
  • Gain spiritual knowledge about human life and thus that helps you stay in control.

  • Memorize the happiest moments of life and this helps you get away from your negative emotions.
  • Involve yourself in some work or hobby you love. This way you distract your mind easily.

  • Realise that these emotions work like poison in your mind and therefore intoxicate yourself from them.
  • Learn to understand and know thyself more. This way you will be busy in getting better instead of worrying about others.

  • Stop doing comparison with others. Believe that you are unique in all the ways.
  • Meditate. Meditation is the cure for most mind problems. There are several types of meditation and get habituated to what fits you.

You cannot get rid of these negative emotions fastly. It takes time, patience and determination. Specially these habits are grounded in huma nature and therefore, they may consume more time. However once you become free, you will have unlimited peace and happiness.
